    Essential Oil Information
Anise:
Spicy, warm, licorice-like aroma. Used by fishermen to mask human scent. Aromatherapists consider it to have a great effect on the digestive system. They also believe it is an antispasmodic for nerves and muscles. Also, thought to be aphrodisiac or stimulant. Blends well with citrus scents or vanilla. Do not use if pregnant, except with advice of health care professional.

Citronella:
Slightly sweet, powerful and lemony scent. Used as an antiseptic, deodorant, deodorizer, purifier and insecticide. Most commonly used as an insect repellant. Blends well with citrus oils and peppermint.

Eucalyptus:
Unmistakable menthol scent that is fresh, cooling and energizing. Thought to be a mental stimulant and may help increase concentration. Aromatherapists also use eucalyptus to ease respiratory problems and ease muscle and join aches and pains. Blends well with herbs, especially lavender. Do not use on infants or small children.

Lavender:
Floral, herbaceous, fresh aroma. A must for relaxing and calming. Considered helpful with headaches and stress. Blends well with vanilla and light floral scents.

Lemon:
Light, fresh citrus scent. The warm citrus scent refreshes and rejuvenates, a good natural astringent. Blends well with light citrus scents, chamomile and tea tree oil.

Lime:
Light, fresh green/bitter citrus scent. Considered uplifting and clearing, also used as an antiseptic. Blends well with light citrus scents, chamomile and tea tree oil.

Peppermint:
Vitalizes, energizes, and restores the senses. Has been used in both Eastern and Western medicine for a variety of complaints including fevers, headaches, migraines, arthritis. Should not be used during pregnancy or if suffering from epilepsy.

Tangerine:
Warm, citrus, sweet and tangy aroma. Considered an antiseptic, antispasmodic, sedative and stomachic. Care should be taken not to expose the skin to strong sunlight after use. Blends well with chamomile, orange and rose.

Tea Tree Oil:
Warm, spicy odor (some consider it medicinal). Known as an antiseptic staple and a stimulant.
