NC+ Organics adheres to the same seed quality standards that have always applied to NC+ Hybrids. All hybrids and varieties are subjected to rigorous testing regimes to ensure that you will receive the highest quality seed. In addition, NC+ Organics seed is tested for the presence of genetically modified organisms. All of our organic and non-GMO seed is sampled and tested independently.

Germination and damage testing:
At NC+ Organics we use standard test procedures as outlined by the Association of Official Seed Analysts to ensure that minimum germination requirements are met. NC+ Seed is also tested to ensure that only minimal amounts of physical damage remain. Remember that seed treatment on conventional seed may hide defects that may be more readily seen on untreated seed.

Sizing:
All corn seed will be available as plated to accommodate all types of planters.

Bag Weights:
All soybean seed will be distributed in approximately 50 lb. bags. Corn seed is packaged by kernel count, so weights will vary from 40-55 pounds.

Research/Grow-out Trials:
All hybrids and varieties are put through rigorous research field trials before they are released for retail production. Prior to release into our retail line, each seed lot must meet our minimum requirement for genetic purity (off type plants and selfs), in winter grow-out trials.

Non-GMO Seed:
All seed sold by NC+ Organics is not derived from genetically modified organisms. An independent laboratory tests every corn and soybean lot to be non-GMO.

Organic Certification:
NC+ Organics receives it organic certification from Quality Assurance International.

Note:
Seed distributed by NC+ Organics is not treated with any fungicides. Fungicides serve to protect the ability of the seed to germinate in wet/cold conditions. We suggest that untreated seed be planted when soil temperatures have moderated so that a good stand can be established.
